

FIFA and the world footballeers union FIFAPro have named a squad of 55 players to apply for the FIFA/FIFPro World XI 2011 award that is going to be given on the 9th of January at the FIFA Ballon d'Or in Zurich, and David Villa is at this list.
All the 55 candidates have been chosen thanks to the votes that 50.000 professional footballers members of FIFPro have given to them, they have to choose four defenders, three midfielders, three strikers and one goalkeeper.
The whole list of defenders are completed by: Sergio Agüero (Argentina / Manchester City), Karim Benzema (France / Real Madrid), Edinson Cavani (Uruguay / Naples), Didier Drogba (Ivory Coast / Chelsea), Samuel Eto’o (Cameroon / Anzhi), Radamel Falcao (Colombia / Atlético de Madrid), Mario Gómez (Germany / Bayern of Múnich), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Sweden / AC Milan), Lionel Messi (Argentina / Barcelona), Neymar (Brasil / Santos), Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal / Real Madrid), Wayne Rooney (England / Manchester Utd), Luis Suárez (Uruguay / Liverpool), Robin van Persie (Netherlands / Arsenal) y David Villa (Spain / Barcelona).
