The worst earthquake in the last 100 years has devastated Haití only some days ago, on the 12th of January. UNICEF has been working in Haití for more than 40 years now, and now is on the field and needs resources urgently to be able to help hundreds of thousands of children who are in a desperate situation.
The situation is catastrophic: the epicentre of the earthquake was only a few miles from the highly populated capital of Puerto Príncipe. Haití has very few ways to help its population. Its economy was weak even before the seism and the social services are practically non existent after decades of political instability.
UNICEF is sending to Jacmel and Puerto Príncipe the necessary products to assist the population, facilitating access to drinkable water and sanitation, and giving food, medical goods and temporary refuge.
In these disasters, children are in a situation of more vulnerability, generating very special needs in food, refuge and protection.
David Villa, as “friend” and collaborator of the great organization of the United Nations, calls out to people to participate in the project of aid to reconstruct this region severely damaged by the natural catastrophe, through a donation to the following bank accounts:
Rural Caja: 3082.1005.10.4438795322
CAM: 2090.0029.81.0043700186
